We are a small congregation. We don’t aspire to greatness. But we can, in the words of Mother Theresa “do small things with great love.” In the city of Pittsfield and its surrounding towns , we have ample opportunity to do just that.
We can, as Jesus says in Matthew 25, help clothe, feed, and give shelter to those in need.
And so we work in St. Joe’s Kitchen.
Every Wednesday, we join with folks from South Church to prepare and serve a hot meal. We bake pies, collect money in our yearly “Bucket Brigade,” and make sure there is enough toilet paper for all the guests.
We use our hands, too. A few of us are skilled, but many of us offer our unskilled labor to Habitat for Humanity.
